about

The title is not literal; I wanted to make this song as dramatic and pathetic as humanly possible, for narrative effect. I was in a pitiful place when I wrote this. I also wanted to challenge listeners, with the dichotomy of the dance floor beats and the little girl voice. If this song doesn't conflict you, I haven't done my job. I want you to squirm; I get bonus points if you cry. :)

lyrics

you knew my goods’ve been damaged
you knew I’m fractured inside
love that you don’t take advantage
but I still wanna hide
from you

before  I ask you
before I ask you to
before I ask you
before I ask you to

ooh baby tell me you love me
ooh baby say it that way
but still it makes me feel filthy
baby, you better not stay
around

for me to ask you
for me to ask you to
for me to ask you
for me to ask you to

you don’t know what you mean to me
I’d leave
Morrissey
for you

between me tiger-striped thighs
I’m just a garden of bone
I gotta push you away
and do this all on my own
without you

wish I didn’t need you
I didn’t need you to
wish I didn’t need you
I didn’t need you to
