Ven A Mi ("Come to Me, Bend to Me") from the 1960 México City cast recording of BRIGADOON. 100% proceeds go toward on-going earthquake relief efforts in México, via topos.mx.

My maternal bloodline in México City (Tacubaya) and Puebla goes back thousands of years, before the Aztecs. México is my heart. Watching the horrifying footage of the post-earthquake wreckage has broken my heart, but never in my life have I been made as proud to see the selflessness, compassion and bravery of the Méxican people.

¡Viva Cuidad de México, Viva Puebla, Viva México!

"Come to Me, Bend to Me" is from the scene in BRIGADOON where Charlie cannot contain how much he loves his intended, Jean, and cannot wait until the wedding to see her, even if it's bad luck to see one's bride before the wedding on the day of. Mexican culture has the great tradition of "las serenatas," in which a young man hires a band to sing beneath the window of his beloved (or he sings to her himself, which is ever cuter!). A pure expression of love that were not only welcomed, but expected. It is truly a beautiful way to demonstrate how much you love someone. The most Méxican moment Scotland ever had, I assure you. :)
